Obituary for Mickey Elvin Williams

January 31, 1940 - October 13, 2017

Mickey Elvin Williams, 77, of New Hope, passed away Friday.

Mickey was a master welder by trade, in his prime he love fishing and hunting but his family always came first. Mickey and Mary were happily married for 54 years He’s pride and joy was his kids but his granddaughter had him wrapped around her finger for the last 10 years. She was his world. Mickey was 2nd to oldest in the family of 7 brothers and sisters and he took care and was very protective of them all. Later in life as his health was declining he liked to piddle with small jobs like polishing brass, painting everything he could, mowing the grass but his favorite past him was watching westerns and listening to George Jones.

He was preceded in death by father, Willie Bell Williams, mother, Verna V. Williams, brother, Dewey Felton Williams and sister, Marsha Williams Martin.

Surviving are wife, Mary Floyd Williams, daughter, Kim (Harlan) Worley, daughter, Kanita (Donnie) Medlen, granddaughter, Elizabeth "Izzy" Medlen, brothers, Jerry W. Williams, Clayburn Williams, Franky Williams, Larry Williams, sister, Janice Gayle Martin, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Monday at 3:00 pm with Rev. Wade Martin, Rev. Franky Williams and Houston Johnson officiating.

Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery.
