Obituary for Carlton O. Glover

July 8, 1936 - August 6, 2018

Carlton O. Glover, 82, of Gurley, passed away Monday.

Carlton was the co-owner of Glover and McGaha Truck Shop and an active member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church. In his youth he was a star basketball, baseball and softball player. Later in life he enjoyed SEC football, westerns movies, and the occasional yard sale. He loved the outdoors; among his favorite activities were gardening, fishing, hunting, boating, 4-wheeling and horseback riding. He created cherished memories of the fun days on the Tennessee River for his children, grandchildren and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Marie Primm Glover, father, Charles William Glover, mother, Thelma Beatrice Cowan Cothern, two sisters and one brother.

Surviving are wife, Sue Craft Glover, daughter, Sharon (Bob) Sentell, son, David (Brenda) Glover, daughter, Tammy (Malcolm) Jones, son, Alan (Cristie) Glover, brother, Woodrow Glover, brother, James Glover, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 12:00 pm with Bro. Gary Gates officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Glover, Landon Glover, Andrew Glover, Steve Glover, Chris Honey, Dustin Roberts and honorary pallbearer Slaten Glover.

Interment will be in the Huntsville Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Keel Mt. Volunteer Fire Department or Cave Spring Baptist Church.
